Born in Paris in 1964, Sophie Dumont is a contemporary French painter whose work explores, through oil on canvas, the notions of structure, memory, and balance. Through a process of layering, erasing, and reworking, she constructs pictorial spaces where matter becomes a true language.<\/p>\n
In this work, the composition is organized around a central core that acts as a silent pivot. The forms, both geometric and slightly curved, interlock and respond to each other in a contained dynamic, creating a fluid but never static internal circulation.<\/p>\n
The palette, dominated by ochres, muted greens, and deep reds, contributes to this feeling of tension and balance.
