In the summer of 1956, the Italian ocean liner Andrea Doria sank off the coast of Nantucket following a collision with another vessel.
This maritime disaster sparked numerous diving expeditions aimed at recovering treasures and artifacts, echoing the adventurous underwater explorations depicted in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas.
The diver confronts a shark attempting to seize the treasure, while the ship’s captain, Piero Calamai, left behind a poignant letter.
