In Entre deux calmes (Between Two Calms), Sophie Dumont explores a suspended space, situated between two states of silence. The composition unfolds in broad horizontal layers, where shades of white, beige, and grey interact with a denser, almost mineral, dark band that anchors the whole.
The painting proceeds through successive layers, allowing the memory of previous ones to surface. Variations in texture and subtle surface vibrations establish a slow, meditative rhythm, akin to an inner landscape.
