In Lignes de pensée, Sophie Dumont explores the world of the abstract library with rigor and sensitivity. Aligned like fragments of memory or mental layers, the book spines rise in a broad, rhythmic composition, both structured and vibrant.
The verticality of the elements, placed against a sober background, evokes inner order, concentration, but also the stirrings of ongoing thought. The palette—muted, elegant—mixes blacks, deep grays, off-whites, golden browns, and oxidized reds. Each slice seems to carry a silence, a trace, or a tension.
The panoramic format accentuates this impression of a horizontal reading of a mental landscape, as if each segment opened onto an inner narrative. It is a painting that speaks of memory, of knowledge, but above all of the space they occupy within us—vertically, internally.
