Tarek, coming from the graffiti scene, experienced and lived through the early days of the Hip Hop movement in France. From Smurf to graffiti, he was both a witness and a participant in this underground culture. At just 20 years old, he released the book "Paris Tonkar," the first work dedicated to this scene in Europe. He exhibited his initial paintings in 1992 during the "Paris Graffiti" exhibition. The Hip Hop series serves as a means for him to revisit those years of his youth in the Parisian suburbs where this culture was practiced by kids in basements and places on the fringes of society.
